VAL, Lanjigarh received the prestigious St. John Ambulance Award in 2007 and 2008 for its contribution towards training and promotion of First Aid not only among its employees, contract employees and other stakeholders but also in the entire district of Kalahandi. The award was presented by His Excellency, Governor of Orissa, Shri Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare.
