VAL has partnered with village level contractors to facilitate better infrastructure in the villages bordering Jharsuguda district. The objective of these developmental activities has been to ascertain comfortable accessibility to basic amenities. Infrastructure projects have also generated temporary employment to the locals.
To cultivate harmony through infrastructural advancements, numerous activities have been undertaken:
Concrete Road, Deep Well, Tube Well construction
VAL believes that good connectivity and water supply among rural areas is central to social and economic development. For this purpose, eight km of concrete roads, tube wells and deep tube wells were constructed in six villages.
Temple & Pond renovation
Eight ponds were renovated in six villages to expand provision for water. Temples were repaired in four out of these six villages.
Electrification
VAL is committed to transforming the lives of rural people by consistent expansion of power infrastructure across villages. To this effect, electricity has been introduced in five villages.
Drains, Community & Individual Toilets
In two villages of Bhurkamunda and Brundamal, VAL undertook constructions for improved sanitation. Drains were created that covered four km. 21 community & individual toilets were built.
Makar Rath & Kirtan Mandap
VAL understands the manner in which religion and worship is entwined in the lives of the local communities. The firm therefore has built a Makar Rath and two Kirtan Mandaps in one village.
